The gown is the piece you wear
A graduation set is three pieces: the gown, the cap and the stole. The gown is the body of it. The long piece you put on and close over your shoulders. While the cap goes on your head and the stole wraps around your neck and sits over the gown. So the cap and the stole are worn on top: the gown is what you wear.
The gown is also what sets the shape of the photograph, which is why the whole set is built around it. The name people read in a graduation photo sits on the cap and the stole, and the gown is the surface those two read against, and if you want the name on the gown itself, that area is open to you in the studio.
How the gown is sold
The gown is not a product of its own in the catalogue: it is delivered inside the full set. Gown, cap and stole, at one published price. That is not a technicality. It means you take three pieces for one price, and the name is printed on whichever of them you design on.
Where the name goes on the gown
The printable area on the gown, in centimetres and with the very figures the studio turns into the print file:
The area is a standing rectangle 25 wide by 30 tall, starting at the chest on the left side. Because it stands upright, a name there reads from a distance in a full-length photograph more clearly than anywhere else on the set.
Those figures are real centimetres rather than a drawing: the studio takes that area and produces a print file at its actual size, so what you see on screen is what lands on the cloth.
Every piece of the set has its own area, and the studio shows each one separately, so you pick a piece and see the name on it before you confirm.
And if you leave the gown without a name?
The gown arrives plain, exactly as it is. The studio only prints the surfaces that have a design on them. Anything you leave empty reaches you with no printing on it at all. That is the difference between a name on the gown and a plain set, decided by you and nothing else. the difference between printing and embroidery on a name
Long names and short names
The standing area on the gown takes an Arabic name with its diacritics, or an English one, in a large typeface, and it takes a long name of two or three words as well. If a name is too long for the area, the studio shows you that on the cloth before you order, so you fix the size, the font or the spacing instead of being surprised after printing.
How the name is written
The name can be written in Arabic with diacritics. The marks above and below the letters, or in English, in any of the fonts. If you type it without the marks, the studio offers a suggestion and you decide: use it, adjust it yourself, or leave the name plain.
You change the font, the size, the colour and the placement until it is right, and if you have a school logo or artwork ready, you add it as an image and set its colour. After you order we call you to confirm the name before it is printed, so it does not get printed wrong.

Size
The full set currently comes in one size: 160 cm. The gown is cut long and loose so it falls over the body rather than pulling, and the cap and the stole are one size that fits the set. the gown size guide and how to measure yourself
If that size is not right for you, or you need a different one, talk to us before ordering and we will agree the details. We do not take a special size without agreeing it with you first.
